hey, its austin. this week, ive done some fun visuals and implemented a lot of character sprites. i stuffed them all into one test area and made sure you could interact with them correctly.
everyones doing something! i structured the overworld to have all 20 of the standard characters doing their unique tasks and hobbies. and when you come back or "revisit" the location they're in later in the campaign, they are all doing something different! thats at minimum 40 different sets of unique sprites and behaviors i tasked myself with implementing...
for cassandra, some of the little symbols floating around her are a fun nod to some games i really like. let me know if you can tell which games some of them are from.

also, i made a small particle effect for casting a spell! the color of the particle trail and cloud is colored to fit the spell being cast.
to fit this new particle effect, i made the enemy portraits play a fun spellcast animation, which has been a lot of fun to draw the different sprites for. everyone's got their own... "unique" way of casting spells.
